Thank You, Lord, for Your Holiness

Thank You, Lord, for Your Holiness

I pre-ordered Jackie Hill Perry’s latest book, Holier Than Thou, as soon as I heard about it. I knew I would like it and I did. JHP, as I affectionately call her, is one of my favorite people to learn from. She is unfussy, poetic, truthful, and not once has she called me her “friend,” which I find altogether endearing and hard to find amongst female Christian authors. (No offense, I just have never met these people so I don’t know why they call me their friend when I’m just trying to read their books.)

Developing A Love for Reading

I was hanging out with a friend when she asked a tough question. I didn’t know how to answer. The thought ran through my head, “What if I’m judged based on my answer?” I wrestled in my mind with what to say for what felt like forever. Maybe I’m thinking through this too much? I knew I had to respond. Finally, I answered: “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala”.

It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way

It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way

So many times when we encounter unmet expectations in life, someone we know will offer up a Bible verse or well-known saying to encourage us. However good their intentions are, often times their words of encouragement seem shallow compared to the hurt and pain we are experiencing. Author Lysa TerKeurst understands that all too well.
