Naming an album that’s going to be published on all streaming services and will last for years to come can be overwhelming. Should the title be based on a theme? Our church name? History? Our Worship Minister, Eric Wall, revealed his decision to our arts team: “Council Road Worship, Vol. 1”. Don’t worry, I asked him why!
Eric’s desire for this album has always been to be the heartsong of our church, but he doesn’t want it to be the only album we ever produce. He wants to start us on a path to encourage songwriting continuously. I have been lucky enough to watch this album unfold from the drop of its first original song to us preparing for our massive worship night coming up on May 18th where we will sing through the entire collection of original songs in this album.
I never thought I’d get the chance to record in a studio, let alone an original song! When Pour Your Spirit releases for our Pentecost celebration, I will officially be a listed artist on that public song. I am not the only one either! Around 50 of our church members will have taken part in creating this album, so it really is Council Road’s album, not Eric’s. Our arts volunteers are so excited to share the work we have put in to create this album that celebrates the virtues of our church and the seasons we celebrate.
On May 18th at 5pm in the worship center, we will sing through all our original songs! This will be recorded in the hopes to release a LIVE version of Council Road Worship, Vol. 1! Afterwards, we will all go across the street to the Cube for fellowship, food, and fun that will help fundraise for our youth and kids camps. It’s going to be an incredible event with so many of our ministries and volunteers coming together. Please plan to join us in worship at 5pm in the worship center on May 18th for our Summer Kick Off event!
