What IF You Joined Our Table?

What if? If not now, when? If only….

For a little two-letter word, “if” packs a big punch! Here’s another if phrase: If Table groups.

The first time I heard about IF Table groups was two years ago when our Women’s Ministry offered the opportunity to sign-up for one. It sounded interesting, was a short time commitment, and involved food and conversation around a table with a girl group. What’s not to like about that? So, I signed up, agreeing to co-host. Turns out, if I had not, I would have missed a great time of fellowship with a multi-generational, small group of women. Some of these women I knew and some I didn’t, but all were all focused on growing closer to God and in their faith.

We have had two rounds of IF Table groups and sign-up is now open for a third. I encourage you to participate! You will prayerfully be placed in a group of approximately 6 women. Maybe you will know some of them and maybe you won’t. There will be a great mix of ages and experiences. There is no preparation needed, you meet in your hostess’ home for a meal and directed conversation around the table, once a month for 6 months. Or possibly, if your group prefers, you can meet by zoom in this crazy pandemic era.

I have been incredibly blessed by both groups. Selfishly, I got to re-connect and go deeper with old friends and make new friends I treasure. I watched as God amazingly placed women side by side who could minister to and comfort each other. We prayed for each other and family members through COVID19 hospitalization, newborn baby days, school graduation, and job stresses. We were challenged as we answered the questions each month. We were transparent with each other about our struggles. In other words, we did life together under the umbrella of God’s watchcare over us. I would have missed all that IF I hadn’t signed up!

So, what are you waiting for? God has some really good experiences packed up for you in an IF Table group this fall. You can register at church or online at www.councilroadwomen.org/calendar. Who knows, maybe we will be in the same group this time!
